Overview
If you want to add solar power to your home, Premier Solar makes it easy! We look after our customers from concept to completion and provide a full range of services that you will need for a successful installation and net metering application. Our goal is to make solar accessible for all home owners interested in this clean renewable resource. We believe that as our society becomes more energy conscious, a home with solar power is highly desirable and a smart investment. Consultation
Once your application has been received, you will be contacted by one of our agents and an appointment will be booked for a consultation. This consultation is free, simple and informative. After you have decided on the program, your project manager will make arrangements to compile the information required to design your new system.
Design/Plans
Your new system will be custom designed and plans for the system will be generated along with a detailed listing of the equipment and installation mounting materials. These plans will be used by our solar specific electrician to apply for the electrical permit as required by your city or municipality.

Materials
Premier Solar invests a lot of time sourcing premium materials for your new system to give you the best value. All materials used in your new system are compatible, come with warranty and are name brands such as Kyocera and Solectria. The panels are rated to produce a specific amount of energy in a specific climate. We use a solar calculator to calculate what your system's output will be. Generally these panels come with a 25 year warranty and are expected to last much longer than that. We have several kinds of mounting platforms such as pole mount, ground mounts and roof mounts. The roof mounts are the most popular. We also offer add ons such as electric car outlets, custom mounting systems and so on. (See Add-ons/extras.) Prior to installation you will be informed of the system specs and details.

Engineering
Each system's plans are reviewed by an electrical engineer and stamped for approval. Later, once the system is installed,the engineer will also inspect (see inspections below) the system to make sure it meets or exceeds local city or municipality requirements.
Permits
Once the plans have been designed, reviewed and stamped by the engineer, they are then given to our electrician to apply for the permit at your local city hall, and an installation is booked for your new system!
Installation
Installation generally takes between 2-3 days. First the racking or mounting system is installed and from there, your panels, wiring and other hardware components are installed.

Inspections
Your system will be inspected by both the engineer and the municipality or city inspectors where the permit was applied for. Once your system passes inspection, we then assist you with the necessary paperwork required to apply for the net metering program through the local power utility.
Grid Tie Application
When the inspections are complete, we assist you in the Net Metering application process. This will allow you to sell your excess energy back to the grid. Once a year, your utility (such as BC Hydro) will deduct your usage from your energy production and credit you the difference. There are no batteries required for a grid tie solar system as your hydro company will store your excess.
